Navigating the Desktop

Once you’ve signed in, the first thing you’ll see is the desktop. You can think of the desktop as the main workspace for your computer. From here, you can view and manage your files, open applications, access the Internet, and much more.

Windows 10 desktop:

The desktop will have icons on it for various files and apps. The only icon by default is the Recycle Bin.

The bar across the bottom of the screen is the Taskbar. This bar has icons on it for different apps.

The button on the left side of the Taskbar is the Start Button. Clicking on it produces the Start Menu.
